La Fourmi

Fourmi

The atmosphere in this bar on the edge of La Butte Montmartre is unlike any other in Paris. This bar/restaurant is named La Fourmi, a tribute to La Fontaine's famous poem. It's a big jumble of smoke, loud music, down-at-heel characters, naive looking young tourists, snogging couples and pick-up merchants. Not to be missed. Beats the more sanitised bars closer to the Sacre Coeur hands down. But you have to be in the mood for it. Beer costs around 2/3euros.
