French Touche
Ana Lee writing for I V Y Paris
A more down to earth version of Colette, French Touche displays a gallery of 'touching objets,' where you'll find modern handmade creations along with old items: jewels, bags, girdles, lamps, crockery, children's clothing, toys, cards and books, cds and fanzines...presenting the work of about 200 craftsmen and artists.
Among them:
Claire Hecquet-Chaut's retro ceramic jewels,
Melody Champagne's transformed ballet shoes and romantico-punk clothes,
Céline Saby's tube lamps with a touch of a Japanese aesthetic, and
Sandrine Colin's wonderfull magic bags.
You should also look out for their clever chansonspoche (pocketsongs, that are actually business-card shaped cds playable on regular cd players.)
