La Semaine Du Son Starts Today

Paris has always been one of the leading European centers for experimental music, if not the world. To celebrate the city's love of sound, the Association La Semaine du Son is putting on the sixth annual Semaine du Son starting today. And though there are events going on around France, it's safe to say that Paris is the hub, with a full French week (Tuesday to Saturday) devoted to the project.

Events range from lectures and recitals to experimental music and sound installations. Todays events at La Palais de la découverte include lectures and roundtable discussions on auditory health with prompts such as "the future of prosthetic hearing," and "European roundtable concerning mp3 players."
