Shooting Stars
Stella Cadente(shooting stars in Italian) is the label of Ukrainian Stanislassia Klein and is one of the Parisian woman's favourites. Colourful and feminine - it's a more playful Paris feeling and a good antidote to the black that everybody wears.
I found out that Carolyn Moncel my PR guru was a big fan and we spoke earlier in the week about visiting the shop on Canal Saint Martin. No need. "Let's go the runway show" I said and proceeded to blag two tickets one for me and my "photographer". Well I just name-checked old Stella in a piece for Variety magazine so I think I deserve it.

I thanked my lucky stars I'd been pleasant to the PR who'd biked me tickets at short notice. She saw me in the queue and pulled me through the doors ahead of all the black clad fash mag slags. So demeaning, queueing.
Seated next to the Sunday Times Fashion Editor who is just darling, we talk about her Scottish husband and how awful it was working for Vogue. On the other side of me was a snobby little madame from American Elle. The next thing the Brits get upgraded to the front row and she is told she has to stay where she is. Fashion Karma.
A collection tres rock 'n' roll for someone better known for floaty florals. Great to see big biker boots, lots of lamé (especially cool lime green knickerbockers) and slits up to the bums of the Moulin Rouge dancers who were the models and quite spectacular. The sound track featured the Clash, a metal version of "Wuthering Heights" and Iggy Pop so they got a chance to grind and pout. They looked like they were loving it.

American ELLE?? They must have bad seats anyway because all they ever show is crap in that magazine - in clothes and celebs. Case in point: they just did that idiotic spread of preggers Britney Spears.
